When this post is published, I will have reached fifty followers, and this will be my fiftieth post on “The Oddity Writer.”
I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone in and out of the blogosphere who stopped in to read the blog, whether you’ve read one post or ten, or if you’ve read every single one since the beginning. Although fifty may not seem like such a huge number because some of my followers have a thousand or more, it is a larger number of people than I expected to ever join me on my journey to become a better writer.
Although this topic will be covered in a future installment of the blog, I consider a successful writer to not be defined by viewing figures, but by the impact they manage to have on others, and by whether or not they successfully document the world around them and share the work they have with others. And I hope to eventually become a writer who can do that for others.
As a writer, I’ve already found flaws in my writing and begun to work on improving them (case in point, the Mark Redwood series, which has been heavily revised and will be releasing a new installment this Saturday, November 22.) Maintaining this blog has not only forced me to examine my work carefully but also enjoy myself working on something I love.
It’s been a privilege to be a member of a unique community full off different people, all talented and all important, all seeking to do something great. For a while, I reblogged work by my followers that I found fascinating. Because I often ended up digging through blogs for a larger amount of time than I spent writing, I ultimately stopped to devote more time to my content. However, I do plan to restart this old tradition. (And yes, I promise not to get too engrossed.) If you have a particularly interesting or well-written piece that you’d like me to reblog, please let me know! I’d love to read your work and share it!
Thank you for following me thus far on this journey! I hope to see you next time. Until then, have a fantastic day!
